The Hanover Township Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for the following entry level positions:

Police Officer

Minimum Qualifications necessary to apply are:

1. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States
2. Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
3. Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree.
4. Applicant must possess a valid Driver’s License.
5. Applicants must have satisfactorily completed the Act 120 Police training program and be current with the training updates within twelve (12) months of the Application deadline or be actively enrolled in the Act 120 Police training Program and successfully graduate from said program prior to a conditional offer of employment. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any applicant enrolled in the Act 120 Program for either unsatisfactory performance or the final grading determination from the Academy.
6. Applicant must be physically and mentally fit to perform the essential duties of a Police Officer.
7. Applicants must maintain their domicile within the prescribed geographic boundaries of Hanover Township during employment and Non-Resident Applicants shall become domiciled within Hanover Township not more than six (6) months after being hired by the Township.

Fire Apparatus Operator/Maintenance Person

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications with documentation for this position will include the following:

1. Firefighter 1 Pro-Board Certification
2. 472 Hazardous Materials Operations with current annual refresher at the time of application
3. Current First Aid/CPR with PA EMT-B Certification within one (1) year from the date of hire
4. Apparatus Pump Operations 1
5. Aerial Apparatus Operations preferred but not required
6. PA State Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations
7. Vehicle Rescue Operations
8. National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100-200-700-800
9. Water Rescue Awareness preferred but not required
10. High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED)
11. Citizen of the United States of America
12. Valid PA Operators License (Minimum Class C)
13. 18 years of age at time of application
14. 1Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties as required
15. Applicants must have their domicile within the prescribed geographic boundaries of Hanover Township or within six (6) months of hire shall become domiciled within Hanover Township. Military Veterans meeting the above qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications are available at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 1267 Sans Souci Parkway, Hanover Township, Pa. 18706, in the office of the Secretary, from 8:00am until 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Applications must be returned no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022, and be accompanied by a non-refundable testing fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) cash, check or money order made payable to Hanover Township Treasurer. A copy of the High School Diploma or GED and ACT 120 Certification for Police Officer must be submitted with application. Applications not completed in their entirety or received after this date will be rejected.
