Items that are high lighted in lime green are OK, but items labeled in red cannot be recycled!

Glass Bottles

Recycle all food and beverage containers - clear and colored glass. Please rinse. No need to remove labels though.

Cardboard

Flatten or cut boxes to a maximum of 3 ft. x 3 ft. (Commercial and Institutional Only.)

Cans

Recycle aluminum cans and steel cans - including clean & dry paint cans -- and empty aerosol cans. Also recycle aluminum foil.

Newspaper

Recycle your newspaper and everything that is delivered with it - including inserts, coupons, etc.

Plastic Containers

Look on the bottom of a plastic item and you should find the "chasing arrow" symbol with a number in the center like the two shown. Only plastic containers with a 1 or 2 can be recycled by Hanover Township.

soda, water and liquor bottles; peanut butter jars; cooking oil and salad dressing bottles; some spice bottles and popcorn containers
Do Not Recycle:
clear dome covers on take-out food trays, and microwave-able food trays

milk and water jugs, shampoo and detergent bottles, 35 mm film canisters, some medicine bottles and EMPTY motor oil containers
Do Not Recycle:
plastic grocery bags, newspaper delivery bags and plastic flower pots

Household cleaners, cough syrup, shampoo bottles

Condiment bottles, cosmetic containers, bags
