The Luzerne County Commissioners, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Luzerne County Solid Waste Management Department will conduct two separate tire recycling collection events during October, 2009. Both collections will be held from 9:00am to 3:00pm and are free of charge to all residents of Luzerne County.

The dates and locations for both events are:
- Saturday, October 3rd 2009 at the Butler Township Road Department, 12 W. Butler Drive, Drums. - Get directions to Oct. 3rd pickup.
- Saturday, October 10th 2009 at the Hanover Area Junior Senior High School, 1600 Sans Souci Parkway, Hanover Township. - Get directions to Oct. 10th pickup.

Tires eligible for collection include automobile, motorcycle, pick up truck and SUV. All tires MUST be removed from rims, free of liquids and heavy mud and cannot be cut.
